Mélisse: A New Gourmet Restaurant in the 21e Arrondissement Square

A peaceful oasis for enjoying a delicious tartine
restaurant melisse au 21e arrondissement

Mélisse:  A perennial herb of the Lamiaceae family. It’s also called “lemon balm” or simply “citronella”.

It’s the relaxing effect of this lemony herb that inspired the name of Caroline and Jean-Claude’s newly opened restaurant, located in the 21e arrondissement square in Old Montreal.
The two partners describe their new “baby” as a haven of peace where local workers can get away. A luminous space, the soothing and refined decoration was conceived by Lovasi, a talented Montreal firm. During the summer season, you can enjoy one of their 3rd wave coffees on the beautiful outdoor terrace. It’ll be hard to restrain yourself from sharing your view on Instagram 😉

On the menu you’ll find simple and healthy cuisine, made on site with local, fresh ingredients. The morning menu offers excellent pastries as well as salty delicacies like the breakfast tartine, consisting of egg salad, crushed cucumbers and tomatoes, dill, chives, all covered with homemade mayonnaise . The lunch menu offers more generous tartines and nice salads, but there’s also a small selection of other dishes and side dishes. Great food that is certain to get your appetite going!

As soon as the restaurant gets its liquor license, a gourmet 5@7 menu will be added! We’ve been informed they will be offering trays of cooked meats, seafood and vegetables accompanied by bread chips.
