Impact on the community
Our leitmotif: harmonious cohabitation
When we were designing the Esplanade Cartier project, we put our 40 years of experience to good use. Concerned with enhancing community life, we sought to build an exemplary project. Our leitmotif? Turning the concept of harmonious cohabitation into a reality. How did we do this? By offering large public spaces, a lively public square, a beautiful central park, and shared roads. We also came up with an innovative way to create an accessible project that serves its residents as well as the community.
Giving citizens a voice
Aware that redeveloping this large site would potentially have a huge impact on the neighbourhood and the city, we implemented a reflection and consultation process, prior to the start of the project. This proactive approach allowed the designers to better understand the realities of the neighbourhood and the community.
To benefit the community
The project was designed in a way that would make it a multifunctional space available to community groups in the neighbourhood. A partnership was formed with Laboratoire sur l’agriculture urbaine (AU/LAB) and Carrefour solidaire to create Montréal’s first in-ground rooftop community garden, which is conducive to intensive cultivation.

Impact on the neighbourhood
Cultivating common areas
Our first privately owned public space (POPS) in Montréal, the central square in the 21e arrondissement project, boast over 20,000 sq. ft. and serves the entire neighbourhood—residents, office workers, and passers-by are welcome to relax and enjoy the space.
At the heart of this same project, we also created our first urban garden, whose harvest is then sold in the square.
The Union sur le Parc project, located in the western part of downtown in a very urban environment, offers over 40,000 sq. ft. of green spaces, including two public parks and a rooftop garden for urban agriculture.

Thinking about space better
Prével has developed extensive expertise in space optimization to offer more compact, and thus more affordable, housing units. Projects such as Lowney and Le Séville have made it possible for hundreds of first-time buyers to own a property.
With this in mind, common areas such as urban chalets, winter gardens, landscaped terraces with pools, connected rooftop spaces, and fitness centres take on even more importance, becoming extensions of the private living space.
These common areas, on which Prével’s reputation has been built, helped set off the revitalization of numerous neighbourhoods such as Griffintown, Saint-Henri, and Shaughnessy Village, giving residents the opportunity to experience a real sense of community.
